As part of the TERRAIN pilot activities, the Municipality of Dobrova–Polhov Gradec organised a test day dedicated to electric mobility and micromobility solutions. The initiative took place on September 22 during the European Mobility Week and Car-Free Day, in collaboration with Nomago and the Regional Mobility Centre of the Ljubljana Urban Region.
During the event, participants had the opportunity to test the Nomago Bike e-bike sharing system and experience the benefits of electric micromobility firsthand. Fast, practical and easy to use, e-bikes represent an increasingly attractive alternative for everyday urban travel, helping citizens avoid traffic while reducing CO₂ emissions.
Compared to travelling by car, cycling can significantly lower environmental impact, while also offering a flexible and convenient transport option. The Nomago Bikes system is already active in several Slovenian municipalities and currently in 3 out of 25 municipalities in the Ljubljana Urban Region.
In Dobrova–Polhov Gradec, the system is currently available at the P+R parking area, with plans to expand the service to additional locations in the future.
The e-bikes used during the test are equipped with electric pedal assistance up to 25 km/h and can travel between 60 and 100 km on a single charge, depending on conditions. The system is also integrated with smart card technologies used for public transport services, making access even easier for users.
As part of the continuation of pilot activities, the 3rd Living Lab workshop was conducted on site in April 2026, focusing on user experience, cycling connections and local mobility challenges. In parallel, qualitative data collection activities are currently in progress, including user feedback gathered through questionnaires and practical testing of the e-bike system by local users.
Through activities like this, the TERRAIN project continues to support more sustainable, accessible and citizen-friendly mobility solutions across the ADRION area.
