The Durres Infant's Home has been operating as such since 1957 (a full half a century).
From year to year the quality of the service has been increasing, in 1997 the Hopen and Homes for Children association contributed to the reconstruction of the building and in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs they made it possible to change and restructure the building in Shkozet to be closer to contemporary standards. In 2005 the State Social Service approved two other services to help the community. These services are:
In January 2006, the residential children of this Institution were relocated and accommodated in two family homes with very good conditions, donated by the association.

The Durres Children's Home is a State institution and is financed by the Ministry of Labor. The staff of the children's home is a staff trained in the field of social services for the best and most efficient service for children.
